One of the top 10 public universities in the United States, Georgia Tech launched Technology Square (Tech Square) in 2003, in what was once one of the most run-down sections of Atlanta. It has since drawn high-tech entrepreneurs and innovators and is credited with establishing Atlanta as a top destination for startups. Located in Tech Square is one of the largest startup incubators in the country, Georgia Tech’s Advanced Development Center, which has produced over 170 startups that have generated revenues of more than $12 billion in Georgia.
Now under construction and slated for completion in 2019 is Georgia Tech’s High Performance Computing Center, officially known as Coda. The mixed-use development project will total 770,000 square feet with 80,000 square feet dedicated for high performance computing space. Coda is intended to promote collaboration between startups, Fortune 500 companies, and the university’s vast technological and human resources.
