The IEEE Computer Society (IEEE-CS) is the largest subgroup of the IEEE (Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers), the world’s most prominent professional association for technical careerists. Founded in 1946, the IEEE-CS includes roughly 200 chapters worldwide, through which members collaborate on the advancement of enterprise computing. The IEEE-CS hosts conferences, workshops, and seminars throughout the year in an effort to standardize and “professionalize” a set of global computing standards and benchmarks, which are then used by electronics manufacturers and software developers. As a major force in the field of computing, the IEEE-CS publishes 13 peer-reviewed technical magazines and 20 academic journals on the full range of computing technologies and related applications.
